About PaintDial

PaintDial started with a familiar frustration: every paint brand’s website has a lovely colour tool — that only shows you their paints. If you’ve fallen for a designer colour but want to see what every other brand’s nearest equivalent looks like, you end up with a dozen tabs open and no honest way to compare.

So PaintDial does one thing: it puts 5,582 paints from nine UK brands — Farrow & Ball, Little Greene, Craig & Rose, Dulux, Johnstone’s, Valspar, Lick, Crown and COAT — into one independent tool. Pick any colour, match one from a photo, or search a paint you already know, and see the closest equivalents from every brand side by side, honestly labelled.

It’s an independent, one-person project. PaintDial isn’t owned by, sponsored by, or affiliated with any paint brand, and no brand can pay to change how well its colours match. The matching is pure colour science, applied the same way to every paint in the library.

How PaintDial is funded

Some “where to buy” links are affiliate links, run through partner networks including impact.com and Awin. If you buy through one, PaintDial may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That’s the only way the site makes money — there are no ads, no sponsored placements, and no paid rankings. Matches are never influenced by whether a link earns commission.

A note on colour names

Colour names and paint ranges are the property of their respective brands. PaintDial shows each brand’s published digital swatch values for comparison — always order a tester pot before committing to any colour.
